like something blooming
Fluid gowns, scrunched hose, and bird's-nest hair - a juxtaposition that puts me in mind of the elegantly graceful yet tenuously fragile women of Fitzgerald's novels.
"You're the only girl I've seen for a very long time that actually did look like something blooming."
~Tender is the Night, F. Scott Fitzgerald

looks like a good train ride to me
How wonderful to read something for the pleasure of reading's sake. That, I think, is my criteria for a good novel (or poem or play, for that matter): It should stand up to analysis, but it must be enjoyed, whether analyzed or not.
Read anything good lately?

I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you - Nobody - too?
Then there's a pair of us?
Don't tell! they'd advertise - you know!
How dreary - to be - Somebody!
How public - like a Frog -
To tell one's name - the livelong June -
To an admiring Bog!
~Emily Dickinson, #260
