i have never read this poem before or heard of emily dickinson, but i am quite sure that jim jarmusch has. the more i look around, the more weird interconnections surrounding my favourite movie of all times, "Dead Man", i find. there is a mister dickinson in the movie, and an indian called nobody. the mister dickinson owns a factory called dickinson metalworks, and i always wondered if that was connected to bruce dickinson from iron maiden, but this poem seems so much more like it. i will have to do a post about this movie in my blog some time.
