like something blooming
Fluid gowns, scrunched hose, and bird's-nest hair - a juxtaposition that puts me in mind of the elegantly graceful yet tenuously fragile women of Fitzgerald's novels.

Heidi: No joke? I haven't picked it up since Dr. G's American lit class, but Fitzgerald's writing has been haunting me lately. His subjects are so often disturbed and destructive, yet he treats them with such a light and beautiful touch. It makes it all the more disturbing, I think . . .
Jessica: Unfortunately, my appreciation for modern runway is limited to the artistic - for its craftsmanship and design - rather than practical. A shame, certainly!
